Manchester City Seal Place In FA Cup Semi-finals With Newcastle Defeat

Manchester City secured a comfortable 2-0 victory against Newcastle United with Bernando  Silva scoring goals to lead the side to the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium. 

Newcastle conceded both goals within half hour of play as Rodri set him up with a pass inside the area and his shot was deflected home by Dan Burn. The second goal followed with Ruben Diaz's assist and the Portuguese player dribbled into the inside of the area and curled a left-footed that deflected off Botman to beat Dubravka to the net. 

Reaching the FA Cup semi-finals will be the sixth successive time for City under Pep Guardiola. Likewise, the side has advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League and are also a strong contenders for the Premier League title, the summit of which they trail by just two points.

City saw through the thrilling game with two goals that came off defensive errors from Newcastle. The visitors left enough spaces to City to create chances for goal. Anyhow, the build up to both goals were well crafted and they were counted for Silva as the scorer, 

Even as Newcastle were up against a huge task to undo their deficits, they yet had a sensational moment with Murphy's cross setting up Isak for a volley that was rightly saved by Ortega.

Erling Haaland could not find the back of the net but played significant role at keeping the attack effective nonetheless. The latter stages of the game witnessed a good combination of efforts between him and Oscar Bobb.
