Grigor Dimitrov Sets Up Miami Open Final Against Jannik Sinner

Grigor Dimitrov has earned his first appearance in the Miami Open final with an impressive defeat of Alexander Zverev in the semi-final in three sets, 6-4 6-7 (4-7) 6-4. 

Zverev was neatly outperformed by the Bulgarian, who breaks to earn the opening set win and sealed the match points on the German forehand unforced error. Through the match, Grigor showed great display of skills and resilience to see the game through for his first head-to-head victory after seven games against Zverev. 

"I felt like he upped his game a little bit and he was very very strong throughout in the whole second set and even in the tie-break," Grigor recalled about his opponent. "I served good and I stayed and I kept going after my shots." 

Similar to his previous match, Grigor saved the only two break advantages that Zverev had but converted the two breaks he had. With this victory, the 32-year-old is set to earn a place in the top 10 of ATP rankings and the final in will be his third in Masters 1000. 

In the final, the match will be set against Italain ace and 2024 Australian Open champion, Jannik Sinner who defeated Daniil Medvedev in straight set, 6-1 6-2 in the semis.
