Champions League: Harry Kane Nets Twice As Bayern Munich Defeat Lazio To Reach Quarterfinal

Bayern Munich are through to the Champions League Last 8 after defeating Lazio 3-0 with Harry Kane scoring a brace for the side to progress on aggregate of 3-1 over the Italian side.

Harry put the Germans ahead nodding home a flick header from Thomas Muller following Pavlovic's cross. Muller later added the second goal in a set piece with a glance header to Matthijs de Ligt's cross.

The English striker completed his brace after halftime finishing off a rebound shot from Leroy Sane's curling shot saved to his reach. Both goals scored bring Harry's tally to six in this campaign.

Lazio came into the game with 1-0 victory from their first-leg tie. Having to lose by this margin eliminated the side from the competition. It will be their second defeat in a row to Bayern in Round of 16 after their last appearance three seasons ago.

Quick Overview

Lazio started off quick and energetic but Bayern gradually build up their game by keeping possession of the balls and made something out of their efforts as the Italians were forced into their own half. The build ups to both goals from both halves were brilliant and rewarding to Bayern.

Though the Italians needed to score at least, Bayern maintained dominance after halftime break. Muller played a significant role at seeing the Germans through. Besides getting a goal, he contributed directed to the goals scored.
