Premier League: Arsenal Throw Title Race Open After Defeating Liverpool
Arsenal have thrown the Premier League title race open after defeating 10-man Liverpool by 3-1 at Emirates Stadium and reduced the Reds' lead on the EPL standings to two points.
The Gunners got an early start to getting goals as Bukayo Saka volleyed home Kai Havertz's rebound shot that bouced out Alisson on a fast break. Liverpool leveled the scores with Luis Diaz poking home a loose ball from close range deflecting off Gavriel amidst contest with David Raya.
Gabriel Martinelli later restored Arsenal back in the lead after the interval, he darted for an aerial ball from Gabriel, which both Virgil van Dijk and Alisson missed on challenged and smacked the ball into the empty net. Leandro Trossard wrapped the scores in the stoppages, after rounding Dias and Eliott in contest for Kiwor's pass, he latched on to smacked the ball home through Alisson's legs from close range.
The victory extended the Gunners unbeaten run against to four successive Premier League game and have moved up on the table to the second place with 49 points behind Liverpool.
