Premier League: Alex Iwobi Stars In Man United Loss To Fulham

Manchester United suffered a setback in their unbeaten run through four Premier League games as they lost 2-1 at Fulham with a stunning late winner from Alex Iwobi.

The goals were left until the later stages of the game with Calvin Bassey in a set piece, steering the ball into the top of the net for the opener. United later reacted to the lead as Harry Maguire volleyed home a loose ball from Timothy Castagne's save.

Fulham later found the needed chance for a comeback in the last minutes of the stoppage time from Iwobi, who guided a low-cut shot home from Adama Traore's pass from inside of the box following a fast break.

United had had five consecutive victories in all competitions before losing to Fulham for the third time ever. Yet, they remained comfortable in the sixth position. However, a victory would have further strengthened their chase of the top-four of the Premier League.

Quick Overview

Fulham's comeback was intriguing and their second goal is the first late stoppage time winner against United in a Premier League game in recent times - since 2006/07. United played quite well nonetheless, and had a couple of neat chance that should have put the side in a safe position.

Iwobi played a vital role in the Fulham's victory, and besides scoring the winner, he had had an attempt at the goal earlier into the game. Though Traore replaced Harrison Reed in the second half, he bolster the attack and worked out the second goal.
