Premier League: Alejandro Garnacho Nets Double As Man. United Beat West Ham

Manchester United secured a clean sheet 3-0 victory against West Ham United with Alejandro Garnacho scoring a brace to guide the side through at Old Trafford.

Ramus Hojllund opening the scoresheet in the first period, darting across the front of the box and unleashed a right-foot shot to beat Areola to the bottom left corner of the goal.

United went two goals clear after the interval as Bruno Fernandes offloaded a cross over to Gernacho, who controlled and smacked the ball home. The Argentine winger scored the third goal on a counter finishing off Scott McTominay's through pass.

West Ham have remained winless through four consecutive Premier League games but remained in top seven of the standings with 36 points behind United, who are sixth with 38 points.

Quick Overview

Marvelous performance for United, and in every way, they did well to see off West Ham on a clean sheet for their first back-to-back victory since November. The home win gave United the needed points to advance past their opponents to top six of the standings, reinforcing their chance for a European competition appearance.

Great confidence from the new generation players like Gernacho, Holjund and Mainoo, and at the back, great effort from Dalot for making a couple of fantastic blocks, covering up for Harry Magiure's flop. However, the English defender was impressive throughout nonetheless.

Emerson wasted the chances that could have brought West Ham back into the game, especially their counter before Garnacho struck home the second goal. Impressive performance from West Ham's Ghanian winger, Mohamed Kudus - he participated at the ongoing 2024 AFCON Cup for his home country.
