FA Cup: Conor Gallagher's Stoppage Time Stunner Leads Chelsea Through Against Leeds

Chelsea have made it through to the next round of the FA Cup but left it late into the stoppages before routing Leeds United 3-2 with Conor Gallagher slotting home the winner.

Leeds' took the lead capitalizing on Disasi's defensive flop as Jaidon Joseph's pass found Mateo Joseph, who hit the ball home for the opener. Nicolas Jackson soon restored Chelsea back into the game, Moises Calceido set him up with a pass and he smacked the ball into the net from inside the six-yard box.

Chelsea later moved ahead with Mykhailo Mudryk steering home Raheem Sterling's through ball and Joseph equalised the scores for Leeds' after halftime with a header from Joseph's cross. Conor Gallagher, in the end, settled the game for Chelsea rifling home Enzo Fernandez's through pass from the inside of the box.

Having to come from behind to win at Stanford Bridge can be relieving to Chelsea, even as they have not lost at these stages against Leeds in nine FA Cup games, however, they just lost the EFL League Cup to Liverpool on Sunday.

 Quick Overview

It was not the best start for Chelsea though they quickly got back into the game after Joseph's opener. Their form did not inprove signifcantly after the interval and that paved the way to Leeds' comeback from yet another Joseph's goal. Leeds, though a Championship side, played impressively against Chelsea despite the loss with Jaidon Anthony and Joseph showing off their brilliance at the front.

The build ups to all the goals were delightful and outstanding amongst those was Chelsea's comeback from Gallagher's stoppage time goal, making a turn amidst three defenders before dunking home the winner. Credits to Mauricio Pochettino's adjustment in the team which included bringing on Gallagher, Cole Palmer amongst others really revamped the team for the comeback in the  latter stages.
