Europa:: AS Roma Advance To Last 16 After Feyenoord Lost On Penalties

 

AS Roma sealed an important victory agains Feyenoord on penalties after making a comeback to force a 1-1 (Aggr. 2-2) draw as the game progressed to extra-time. 

The game witnessed an early goal from Feyenoord in just five minutes as Santiago Gimenez deflected home Bart Nieuwkoop's shot from inside the box. Roma leveled the scores as Lorenzo Pellegrini curled a long range shot to beat Timon Wellenreuther to the goal. 

As the game progressed to extra-time, and thereafter penalties, Feyenoord lost two spot-kicks before Nicola Zalewski scored the winning spot-kick. 

The victory secured the Italian Serie A side's place in the Round of 16 of the Europa League and Feyenoord are out of the competition.
