Jose Mourinho Loses Roma Job, Replaced By New Head Coach
Jose Mourinho has come to end of his spell as AS Roma manager following the announcement of his dismissal by the club on Tuesday.
The 60-year-old who led the side to the final of the 2023 Europa Cup has been replaced by the club's legend and former midfielder, Daniele de Rossi as the new head coach until the end of the season.
Speaking of the appointment of the new coach, the club owners Ryan and Dan Friedkin in a statement said: "We knew the indissoluble bond that unites Daniele to the club, but the enthusiasm with which he immediately accepted this challenge...further convinced us of his ability to be a guide to the players."
Mourinho has only been a manager at the club since 2021, and between then and now, he has led the club to win a silverware, Europa Conference League title. Currently, Roma are ninth with 29 points in the Serie A standings.
