Golden Globes 2024: Nigerian-American Actress Wins Best Female As Barbie, Oppenheimer Take Most

It was a historic moment for Nigerian-American actress, Ayo Edebiri made the podium for best female Gloden Globes award at the 81st annual ceremony on Sunday night. Another actress making history was Ali Wong, who also won best female award for her role in the television series, Beef.

Just as Ayo became the first Nigerian to receive the award for her role in The Bear, Wong who is of Asian-American descent became the first from her community to receive the award as well. 

Leading the winner's chart was Barbie which led with nine, following that was Christoper Nolan's film Oppenheimer with eight, and in third is Martin Scorsese directed film, Killers of the Flower Moon and Yorgos Lanthimos' film, Poor Things with seven apiece.
