Brisbane Int: Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic Delighted As Rafael Nadal Returns To Track

It's been awhile since Rafael Nadal has been out of action over an injury, and now, he is back at Brisbane International where the Spaniard is getting a restart of his career.

Nadal got off to an impressive start at the tournament with straight-set defeat of another veteran, Dominic Thiem by 7-5 6-1. The former world no.1 neatly out-performed Dominic despite playing his first match since his last in the second round of the Australian Open in 2023.

Upon his return to action, his compatriot and former world #1, Carlos Alcaraz in his welcome address to Nadal wrote in a reply to his Instagram update, "What a joy to see you again on track Rafa!"

He lost though, in his last meeting with Alcaraz, in three-set to the youngster in the quarterfinals of the Madrid Open, which Alcarez lost in the final to Alexander Zverev. Nadal yet is an idol to Alcarez.

His long time rival, Novak Djokovic also welcomed him back and he did that with a picture update of Nadal with the caption: "WELCOME BACK." Also, included in Djokovic's Instagram message update wwere two female players, Emma Raducanu and Japanese multiple Grand Slam winner, Naomi Osaka.
