AFCON 2024: Tunisia Are Out After Goalless Draw Against South Africa

South Africa are through to the knockouts of the 2024 AFCON Cup after playing goaless draw against Tunisia in the last group game of the tournament. 

For much of an hour into the game, South Africa maintained careful appproach to the game having no shots at the target, and likewise, Tunisia even though they needed to win to get through to the knockouts, they were mindful of counters from the Bafana Bafana. 

The outlook of the game from the first half, however, seemed favourable to Tunisnia with better control of the game and had more shot at the target than their opponents' goal. Nevertheless, they did not seemed st the team that can rout the South African side, who needed at least a draw to qualify for the Last 16. 

Tunisia became desperate in search of the winning goal in the latter stages but were unable to get the ball past the South African defense. Technically, they have now dropped out of the competition for finishing at the bottom of Group E with two points while South Africa will progress to the Round of 16 in the second position on four points.
