Premier League:Richarlison Scores Twice As Tottenham Outclass Newcastle United
Tottenham have ended their winless run through five Premier League matches with massive 4-1 win against Newcastle United with Richardlison scoring a brace.
Destiny Udogie opened the scoresheet with the opener by tapping home Heung-min Son's low-cross from the left flank. Minutes later, the Korean forward burrowed into the area and his low-cross rolled into Richarlison, who guided a left-foot shot home for Spurs' second goal.
The second half did not get better for the Magpies as Pedro Porro's deep cross located Richarlison, and having controlled the aerial ball, he slotted it through Martin Dubravka's legs for Spurs' third goal.
Son scored the fourth goal from a penalty after being dropped by onrushing Dubravka before Newcastle were consolated with their only goal from Joelinton who slammed home Callum Wilson's cross.
Spurs remained in the fifth position on 30 points but they have closed in on their nearest of the top-four, Manchester City, whom they trailed by three points.
Quick Overview
There was just so much Newcastle could do against their hosts who remained dominant through the stretch of the match. Spurs received great efforts to stay ahead from Son as the Korean troubled their opponents on the attack and gave goalscoring assists.
Spurs generally played offensively, wide and fast, with that they quickly overran Newcastle who were repeatedly forced to play deep into their own half. After Spurs' the second, frustration began to pill up on Newcastle. The consolation goal they later found from Joelinton's strike was too late to make a comeback into the game.
Callum Wilson coming on in the second half could not really make a difference because Spurs were already in the lead by three goals and strongly in control of the game. Newcastle endured the back-to-back loss afollowing the 3-0 defeat by Everton in the weekday.
