Premier League: West Ham Claim Claim Stunning Neat Victory Against Man. United
West Ham claimed a surprising 2-0 win against Manchester United, who first the first time in 33 years will finish the first period of the season outside of the top-four of the EPL standings.
After a goalles first half, Jarrod Bowen put the hosts ahead, darted into the six-yard box for Lucas Paqueta's lob and tapped the ball past Andre Onana for West Ham's opener.
Six minutes latter, Paqueta once again set off Mohammed Kudus for a fast break and he unleashed a sensational right-foot shot to beat Onana to the goal for the hosts second goal.
United did have their chances but much of those were from the first half. The second period witnessed the hosts coming into the game to take the lead for the victory as Bowen scored his first goal against United.
Quick Overview
United enjoyed a great start to the game before they settled for a defeat from strikes that left the side startled. The loss partly was from a moment of quick show of brilliance from West Ham's attack.
It was a disappointing match which was well in United's control from the first half. Meanwhile, West Ham kept their game plan and got rewarded with the victory from Bowen and Kudus goal.
West Ham for much period were defensive while United had multiple glaring chances to take the lead from the first half especially on the two ocassions that Alejandro Gernacho darted into the box and left one-on-one with Alphonse Areola.
United's defense was eventually caught unaware by Paqueta's lob over the crowded box for Bowen to dart into the box for. The second goal was yet from another defensive flop and also inspired by Paqueta. Within six minutes, United's defensive was helpless.
Willy Kambwala made a great debut for United though his error led to the second goal, United could not have made a comeback anyway against the West Ham's cautious defensive approach to the game.
