Premier League: Noni Madueke Shines As Chelsea Beat C. Palace In London Derby

Chelsea made a comback to win 2-1 against Crystal Palace in a London derby for their third successive league home game win.

Blues went in the lead with Mykhailo Mudryk poking home from close range Gusto's cutback and Palace leveled the scores as Michael Olise struck home Jordan Ayew's lob on first touch.

After multiple cancellation of goals by the VAR, Noni Madueke eventually got the side the winner on the brink of stoppage time, scoring from a penalty drawn from Eberechi Eze's touch inside the box.

The lost extended Palace's winless run at Stanford Bridge to eight and have also remained winless in eight successful league games (L5 D3).

Quick Overview

Chelsea started off well with the prospect of coming atop of the London derby with an early lead from Mudryk until a set piece goal canceled out their lead. With Chelsea not making chances count, Palace rose to the ocassion with a combination of passes between Ayew and Olise that handed the side the equalizer.

After the interval, both side strongly search for the winning goal, and even though Chelsea got the ball in twice, the referee struck both goals out for offside offences. It all paid off when Palace did not get away with Eze's tripping of Madueke on the edge of the box and that settled the game for Chelsea.

For Palace, Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta made great impact on the game and would have seen them through but changes made by Mauricio Pochettino with Madueke worked out the victory for the side.
