Premier League: Michael Olise Shines As Crystal Palace Draw Against Manchester City
Manchester City just had another setback to their PL title defense campaign after drawing 2-2 against Crystal Palace, whose comeback earned them a point at Etihad Stadium.
Dominant City took the lead from a delightful curly shot from Jack Grealish and Rico Lewis doubled the lead in a set piece after halftime.
Palace leveled up later in the game as Jean-Philippe Metate tapped home from close range a Jeffrey Schlupp's cross from inside the box. Michael Olise then completed the comeback by scoring from a penalty giving away by Phil Foden's rough tackle.
The disappointing ending cost City the maximum points and remained in the trail of the table top spot by three points behind the leaders, Liverpool (37 pts).
Quick Overview
It was fairly a dominated match for City from the started, and building up to the opening goal, Henderson had forced some brilliant saves before the neat exchange of passes between Luis Diaz, Phil Phoden and Grealish beat Palace's defense to the goal.
Ederson narrowly escaped being sent for his rough challenge on Jean-Philippe Mateta but was given a yellow instead for charging outside of the box for a tackle on on rushing Mateta.
Lewis had his plausible moment before Palace managed to rescue the game on a fast break and Mateta made up for his loss from the first half. He eventually drew the penalty that Oliseh converted.
Palace could only rely on counter against dominant City, who needlessly let the game slide for drawing an avoidable penalty.
