Premier League: Liverpool Maintain Top Position After Beating Sheffield United
Liverpool secured a much-needed 2-0 victory against Sheffield United and maintained their position in second place behind Arsenal.
The team's captain, Virgil van Dijk put the side ahead side-footing home home Alexander-Arnold's corner and an injury time goal from Dominik Szoboszlai completed the victory for the Reds against the relegating side, Sheffield.
Van Dijk's strike was well timed and he was left clearly unmarked to take the shot from the front of the goal and Wes Foderingham was neatly beaten. Though Nunez sett of the break for the winning goal, Dominik wasted no time send the ball in.
Sheffield did managed to put up some resilience which could not hold off the tenacity of the visitors from winning the game.
Liverpool made away with the maximum points to remain on the table summit on 34 points while Sheffield continue to be at the bottom on five points - the lowest for a relegating side after 15 league games.
