Victor Osimhen Opens Up On Links With Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal

Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has come out to address the rumours about his link to Al-Halil amidst his club's desire to keep him after their successful campaign in the 2022/23 season.

Over the summer, there were speculations of Victor Osimhen being linked with the Saudi Arabian club, Al-Hilal for a bumper fee that was hard to let go. In the same period, Bayern Munich were also considering an offer of €120m for the player.

At the time, Osimhen had just led Napoli to win the Italian Serie A for the first time in 33 years, the decision for Napoli to let him go was a big and difficult one to make. The rumours later died out as Napoli remained committed to having their striker around as the transfer window closed.

As time passed over the issue, Osimhen for the first time, opened up on the matter and admitted it was all true whilst speaking on a podcast, The Obi One and about the offer, the 24-year-old also admitted the rumours were spot on.

"What was said was true," said Osimhen speaking to Obi. "But, the more I said no to those people, the more they increased it and increased it, it was literally like, 'Wow', seeing these things."

Osimhen has not returned to action with Napoli over an injury sustained during an international game for his home country, Nigeria as the club is battling to make it past the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.

That being said, Napoli are keen to keeping the player for more years and are understood to be in talk with him on his contract extension. Meanwhile, Osimhen has not given his position on where he would like to commit his future.
