Premier League: Luton Fumble As Luis Diaz's Injury Time Goal Forces Draw For Liverpool

Liverpool narrowly escaped humiliation against Luton Town after they drew 1-1 following an injury time equalizer from Luis Diaz.

Luton held on through goalless first half before taking the lead from a fastbreak as Barkley laid off the ball to Kabore whose cross found Tahith Chong for a tap in past onrushing Alisson late in the second half.

With three minutes left to play in injury time, Harvey Elliot lobbed the ball deep into the box for Luis Dias' header that beat Thomas Kaminski to the goal for Liverpool's equaliser. Both sides went on to finish the game in a draw.

Tahith, 23, was just brought on in the second half and his goal was his career first for Luton and against Liverpool. He was just signed to the club this summer after his spell at Manchester United most of which he spent on loan.

Quick Overview

The scoreline was a reflection of determination from Luton Town to hold off Liverpool, and if possible, beat them on their own turf. Prior to them taking the lead, they have shown courage in delivering on fast break which eventually paid off.

Having to draw did not erase the efforts that Luton put into the game bacause Liverpool were not the kind that can easily be runned over and that was evident when Reds got an equalizer. It only took a floppy clearance for Liverpool to capitalise on and Elliot's deep lob to Luis Diaz got the job done.

Darwin Nunez was a little rusty during the game especially for losing a scoring chance from Mohamed Salah's header pass that he rifled out of tough in front of an empty net. Liverpool were not that fiery type today neither was Salah. However, they were not disappoint and likewise Luton.
