Premier League: Bruno Fernandes' Late Stunner Sees Manchester United Through At Fulham
Manchester United left it really late to win 1-0 at Fulham as Bruno Fernandes helped the side to find the winning goal in the injury time.
A couple of exchange of passes landed the ball on Fernandes and after one-two ball with Facundo Pellistri, the Portugese captain steered a right-foot shot from the edge of the box to beat Bernd Leno to the goal in injury time.
Prior to the stunning goal, Fernandes had forced a save from Leno from a free-kick. Fulham did not succumb easily and prompted a couple of attacks and Andreas Onana was to the save for United.
United had just suffered back-to-back loss by 3+ goal margin and having to defeat Fulham snapped the losing streak. The maximum points earned would move up United to sixth in the table whilst Fulham remained 14th.
Quick Overview
Averagely, it was not the best of performance for United and having to play goalless would not have been unpleasant for the side. Fulham were impressive and lived up to the challenge with the likes of Alex Iwobi and Andreas Pereira charging the team forward.
United seemed on uncordinated on the attack for most parts of the game and the introducton of Anthony Martial and Mason Mount brought fresh legs into the game, Erit ten Hag's efforts paid off when Fernandes just made an attempt anyhow, which did not seem as what will culminate in the winner goal in the build up to it.
