Nitto ATP Finals: Novak Djokovic Beats Jannik Sinner To Win For Seventh Time

Novak Djokovic is the champion of the Nitto ATP Finals for the seventh time after defeating home favourite, Jannik Sinner in straight sets, 6-3 6-3 in Turin.

"I think the match we had in the group stage really helped me prepare myself mentally and emotionally for what's coming up," Djokovic said in an interview afterwards. "Obviously, unpredictabilit..Not knowing whether I'm going to qualify for semis or not."

Recalling Djokovic's journey through the group stages, Jannik happened to be the only player who defeated the world no. 1 on his course through to the final. The Italian player outclassed him in three sets, 7-5 6-7(5) 7-6(2).

The dynamics changed in the final for Djokovic as he dominated from the start of both sets, and even when Jannik tried to rally, he regained control and claimed the championship point on the Italian's double fault at 5-3 40-30.

Carlos Alcaraz that was perceived at the potential inhibitor to the seven-time champion's progress was neatly outclassed in the semi-final and could not reprise his best at Wimbledon when he defeated the Serb on his maiden final appearance to win the trophy. However, he was making his second appearance at the tournament.

Having won the trophy, Djokovic became the biggest Nitto ATP Finals winner passing Roger Federer who trails with six titles.
