"I Will Smoke Him" Anthony Joshua Says Ahead of Separate Fights On Same Card As Deontay WIlder
A fight between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder has been a long expectation of most boxing fans, however, they will be fighting separately on the same night later on this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The fights which are scheduled to happen in few weeks will have Joshua, who is a two-time heavyweight champion fight Otto Walin, and his American counterpart, Wilder will take on Joseph Parker on 23 December, 2023.
Since the fights are set to determine the long-awaited fight between the two former heavyweight champions, Joshua is confident to win his fight with Walin and has promised to "smoke him" in Riyadh.
"He's going to find out what i'm about," Joshua asserted when asked about his views on the Swede, who has only lost once in 27 fights and that loss was to Tyson Fury.
He added: "Even on a bad day i'll smoke him. So, he can face me then or he can face me now, it's going to be the same outcome."
Joshua lost his heavyweight titles to Oleksandr Usyk after he had reclaimed the belts, WBA, WBO,IBF, IBO from Mexican-American fighter, Andy Ruiz Jr. in a rematch in December, 2019.
Wilder, on his part, has only lost to Fury, who is now the reigning WBC heavyweight champion. Both fighters battled through three fights, two of which ended in draws before the Briton claimed a decisive victory in the third with a knockout.
