Christopher Nolan Addresses Rumours On Directing James Bond
As the search for the new 007 is yet on-going, rumours are swelling around the possibilities of Christopher Nolan being hired as the franchise's new director. Meanwhile, MGM is reportedly likewise hoping to hire a new director. Thus, the rumours may or not be far from being true but are they true with Nolan?
Since the 25th installation of the James Bond universe, there has been uncertainty over who takes the role from Daniel Craig after his last appearance in No Time To Die. Big names like Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, and Richard Madden have been linked to the role and none seems to be materialising.
While speaking in an interview with AP Entertainment, Nolan addressed the speculations on being contacted by the studios to be the film's director and confirmed that there is "no truth" in the rumours.
"No, sadly no truth to those rumours," said Nolan to Associated Press. " But, I'm very thrilled the strike is over and we can all get back to work."
Nolan directed The Dark Night and Oppenheimer which turned out to be highly successful in the face of the strike in Hollywood. The later closed at the box office gulping a whopping $950m and it is amongst films that helped pushed Universal Picture's global box office gross past $4bn.
