Having won all five games, City have qualifiedunbeaten for the knockouts on 15 points and the Germans finished in second with nine points.
Quick Overview
Coming in the game, Leipzig seemed as the side to win the game but things began to change from second half with thrilling comeback from City. Though the loss did not jeopardise the Germans' progression to the knockout stage, a victory would have consolidated that even more.
Tactically, Leipzig had the best of the first half and Lois Openda caught City's defense rightly by the manners his two goals came in. To put that to check Pep Guardiola's decision to reinforce the attack with Jeremy Dokun and Julian Alvarez paid off.
However, Openda's double were superb and his side could not have asked for more, and his combination with Simon Xavi could not be better enough. All that changed with Alvarez checking that possibilities for fastbreak which Openda is just good at while Dokun put their defence to work.
Leipzip lost to the better, not just on goal margin, rather on technical grounds, Guardiola brought his edge over Marco Rose to play.
