Premier League: Chelsea Suffer Shock Home Loss To Brentford
Chelsea had a humbling 2-0 home defeat to Brentford in a second half turnaround with shock winning goal from Marc Mbeumo in the injury time.
Brentford returned from halftime break to take the lead as Mbeumo played a deep cross over for Pinnock's header that beat Robert Sanchez to the goal.
Penultimate to the winning goal, Sanchez came in search for an equalizer following a corner but Brentford snatched the loose ball and latched onto an empty before Neal Maupay passed the ball to Mbeumo to guide into a empty net.
Mbeumo's goal was in the 96th minutes and that wrapped up the game for their third successive victory against Chelsea and the first side to do so.
Quick Overview
Chelsea were lackluster as they stood the better chance to have not only lead the game but to win. The first half was more in their possession and yet let it slide despite having glaring chances to score. On two occasions, Marc Cucurella lost chances either of which should have been their opener.
Brentford had a game plan and the stuck to that. Using a counter paid off for the visitors as both goals came from a quick break and wasting no chances unlike their hosts.
Chelsea really have work to do to make their frontline even more effective. Nevertheless, Raheem Sterling did a great job despite the lost being a more experienced player.
