Premier League: Arsenal's Late Comeback Force Draw Against Chelsea In London Derby

Chelsea lost a much-deserved victory to a resurgent Arsenal coming from behind to draw 2-2 in London derby at Stanford Bridge.

Cole Palmer put Chelsea ahead by scoring from a penalty after William Saliba's handball offence in aerial ball challenge with Mykhailo Murdyk. The lead double three minutes after halftime from Murdyk's superb individual effort, lobbing a cross over David Raya.

Arsenal returned in the game with Declan Rice pulling one back from Robert Sanchez's clearance error and Trossard Leandro Trossard tapped home Bukayo Saka's cross to level the scores.

The draw kept Arsenal's unbeaten streak running and moved the side up to second place behind Manchester City on equal points.

Quick Overview of the Game.

Chelsea deserved the credit of the better side and Raheem Sterling played a vital role in that. He kept burrowing into Arsenal's defense until his cross set off Murdyk's header that caught Saliba in challenge for the ball. Arsenal could not get away with it.

For the most part, Arsenal were overran and did not seemed as the side that was going to get anything out of the game. However, Premier League can be unpredictable and Sanchez was too comfortable with the lead and his error was costly.

Mikel Arteta maintained his game plan while Saka could not get much space to operate neither could Gabriel Jesus who was later substituted for Eddie Nketiah. As they remained fired up to find an equalizer, Saka's cross could not be right enough for Trossard even from a difficult angle.

The draw was costly for Chelsea despite the hardwork of players like Moises Caicedo, Sterling and Palmer and Murdyk whose goal was his second after his first against Fulham.

The coaches seemed satisfied with the outcome and Arteta spent a little time chatting to Caicedo, and Chelse boss Mauricio Pocchettino walked gladly across the pitch.
