Manchester City remained the side to beat as Nottingham Forest went down with 2-0 loss at Etihad Stadium despite playing one man down for most of the second half.
Forest began to trail their hosts within minutes into the game as City charged into the box and put their defense to test.
Just before a quarter into the game, City had gone ahead by two goals. First, was Phil Foden's finish and the second goal was a glance header from Erling Haaland.
Rodri was later red carded in just two minutes into the second half, yet Forest had to settle for a loss. It ended as the hosts' 20th home game win in all competitions.
Quick Over View of the Game
City got into the game fast and they got it settled quickly. Though, they had to played defensive in the second half after Rodri was sent off, they yet could go on fast break to put their opponents into check.
Having to lose Rodri over a confrontation with Forest's Gibbs-White, quickly changed the game for Jurgen Klopp and relied on keeping the scoreline at it was.
The sublime cross from Rodri caught Forest unaware with Kyle Walker latching onto the aerial ball and dropped it just right enough for Foden to finish off from inside the box.
Whilst Forest seemed unstable from the lead goal, Erling moved into a good position for a glance header to Darwin Nunez's cross. The Norwegian was left unmarked to get his head to the ball undisturbed.
Forest soon woke up to the challenged and their top scorer Taiwo Awoniyi had his moments and likewise Gibbs-White. They just could not get past. It was a fair loss to Forest against the better side, City.
