Martin Odegaard Signs New Contract With Arsenal
Martin Odegaard will be committing more years to Arsenal after signing a new contract with the club which will run for five years.
Arsenal has seen an effective contributions from the Norwegian since the start to the season in terms of goals. He scored the fourth goal during the side's Champions League game against PSV and also scored the opening goal during their 2-1 league game win against Manchester United.
"As a manager, working with Martin the person and the player is an absolute joy," said Mikel Arteta. "It's great that after experiencing a number of clubs already in his career, he is now settled and really feels at home at Arsenal."
After an initial loan spell from Real Madrid, he was signed permanently to Arsenal for £30m in 2021 and as the captain, he led the side to finish the 2022/23 season as runners-up behind Manchester City. That performance earned them a slot in this season's Uefa Champions League after their last appearance in 2016/2017.
"At Arsenal, since the first day, i've felt great and this is definitely my home now," said Odegaard. "I just want to say thanks to everyone working at the club."
He joined the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard to score on their Champions League debut for the club which they won by 4-0 against PSV.
