Manchester United Lost Heavily To Brighton At Old Trafford

Manchester United had a shocking defeat at home to Brighton as the visiting side won by 3-1 having most advantages of the game.

Danny Welbeck sent Brighton ahead steering home a 10-yard shot following a low-cut cross from Simon Adingra. The rest of the first half was fairly in the sides control.

The game did not get better for United in the second half either as Brighton added in the second goal from Pascal Gross and the third goal came I  later on as Joao Pedro struck home Tariq Lamptey's pass.

United responded minutes afterwards with their only goal of the game from an individual effort from Hannibal Mejbri's shot from outside the box.

Quick Over View of the Game

What is disappointment it was for Manchester United to have lost to Brighton at Old Trafford by such a margin that ended their 32 home game unbeaten run? They were almost like caught in Brighton's grasp until the final whistle.

Brighton delivered a good displayed of good football and made ineffective United attacking line and their midfielders, Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen couldn't work it out for the side.

Meanwhile, Danny Welbeck got his former team stunned by his opening goal and Pascal Gross' goal was not short of brilliant attack on the ball after he played the ball wide to Kaoru Mitoma on the left flank and Lamptey's pass did open United's defence.

Brighton emphatically had the game in their favour for having gone three goals clearly before United could even get one in. It was not the best game United wanted.

Perhaps the game would have been different had VAR upheld United's goal from the first half but the device found Marcus Rashford just off the byline before Rasmus Holjund finished off his pass from close range.

Manchester United had a bad day from their lost to Brighton who haven't lost in a first half lead in eight successive games.
