Israel Adesanya Loses Middleweight Belt To Sean Strickland
Israel Adesanya has lost the Middleweight belt again, and this time, it went to an American challenger, Sean Strickland in a fight at Qudos Bank Arena.
The fight ran through five rounds and the judges decision was unanimous on the American who was voted winner of fight scoring 49-46.
Quiet unlike Adesanya, it did not take long before Strickland began to land punches on him. As early as the first round, Strickland had mopped up Adesanya to the walls and repeatedly had his face struck.
Even the former champion seemed convinced of his loss as he was quite rusty in the fifth round while Strickland threw a couple of punches at him before the final whistle went off - from Nigerian/New Zealander's countenance, he was having a disappointing fight.
Up until this fight, Adesanya was a two-champion after reclaiming the belt from Brazilian fighter, Alex Pereira in a knockout following a rematch.
