Champions League: Julian Alvarez's Double Gets Man. City To Good Start Against Zvezda

Manchester City came from behind to get off to a good start with a 3-1 win against FK Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade).

City saw a sensational finish from their opponents with Osman Bukari curling home the opening goal just on the 45th. The visitors, however, were welcomed with an equalizer soon after halftime from Julian Alvarez.

Hence, City have the game to their control and Alvarez again scored from a free as Glazer missed his punch at the ball in the air.

The deciding goal was later scored by Rodri after he had dribbled his way into the box, he curled the ball down bottom left to beat Glazer to the goal.

Quick Over View of the Game

From the start of the game City were the better side until Bukari was caught off guard in the midfield and latched onto a through ball from Mirko Ivanic.

Bukari showed his brilliance was plausible as he quickly turned on Sergio Gomez and had his composure together before hitting the ball home.

There were plenty of chances for City and even Erling Haaland but. The Norwegian forward just found it hard to get the ball past Glazer, who happened to be lucky not to have conceded more.

On few occasions, the Serbian side's goalkeeper's efforts was able to make some impressive saves especially Phil Foden whose header should have put City ahead from close range and Glazet was able to get his hand to the ball.

Zvezda were able not allow too much space to Haaland even as the side could find solace with having to lead the game before a comeback from City.
