Asake Wins Big At 2023 Headies
Expectations of many did not fall short for Afrobeat singer, Ahmed Ololade otherwise known as Asake as he was the big winner at the 2023 Headies Awards ceremony on Sunday.
Asake contended against artists such as Seyi Vibez, Young John, Victony and Spyro for the Next Rated Artist which he won for the first time at the event.
Winning the category which was targeted at new and promising artists in the industry established the Amapiano crooner as the new big star in town.
The actual big award he won at the ceremony which was held in Atlanta was the Album of the Year for his debut album 'Mr Money With The Vibe'. The feat made Asake the fourth artist to win the award with a debut album.
Amongst albums in contest for the Album of the Year was Davido's 'Timeless', Burna Boy's 'Love, Damini', Rema's 'Rave & Roses', Omah Lay's 'Boy Alone', and Victony's 'Outlaw'.
