Premier League: Chelsea Share Point Apiece With Liverpool On Opening Game

Liverpool got a point off Chelsea in their season opening goal in a 1-1 draw that was full of suspense and loads of missed chances at Stanford Bridge.

Blues were faced with a strong brickwall defence from Liverpool and were repeatedly burrowed through on the counter that produced the opening goal for Reds before they stormed back to level the scoring later in the first half.

Liverpool took the lead from a counter as Mo Salah squared a through ball to Luiz Diaz who was left unmarked for the finish. Chelsea later got revamped and Ben Chillwell flicked headed pass to Axel Disasi for a header past Alllison and equalised the scores in the 35th minutes.

For most of the remainder of the first half, Chelsea seemed terrific with Raheem Sterling and Reece James making effective break into their opponents' defense. Meanwhile, amidst the electrifying first half, two goals were cancelled for offside positions.

Salah latched unto a through ball from Aleander-Arnold and was left one-on-one with Robert Samchez for a clean finish that was later cancelled for offside. Chillwell's goal was followed after Chelsea had equalised when Endo Fernandez's pass found him in the box and he rounded Allison before poking home the ball.

The game got a higher octave in the second half and  Liverpool did not have that much luxury of counters like they did in the first. This time, Chelsea dominated the ball but without adding a goal to the scores.

Goal-hungry Liverpool made most of the early stages of the game before Chelsea became awakened and remained on the offensive for the rest of the game with Nicolas Jackson and Endo Fernandez near getting the ball in on their debut for the club.
