Moises Caicedo Officially Joins Chelsea
Moises Caicedo is now a Chelsea player after his dramatic transfer from Brighton was finalised Monday.
Chelsea signed the 21-year-old to eight-year contract worth £115 million which set a new record for British transfer fee and upsetting Decaln Rice's £105m transfer fee to Arsenal.
Initially, the Ecuadorian midfielder was meant to join Liverpool after the club agreed £111m deal with Brighton. Meanwhile, the player preferred a move Chelsea who had been linked to him and that squashed Liverpool's deal offer.
A deal was later agreed with Brighton shortly after Chelsea played 1-1 draw against Liverpool on season's opening game on Sunday.
It is understood that the fee payment will be split in two as Brighton is set to receive will receive an initial of £100m and the remainder, £15m as add-ons depending on player's performance.
