Matheus Nunez: Deal Agreed With Manchester City
Manchester City have advanced on their chase of Matheus Nunez and have agreed deal for signing of the midfielder with Wolverhampton for a contract that is worth £47million.
City's bid for the Portuguese initially fell short with Wolves who did not want to budge over their price tag of £60m for the player. Eventually, they broke through first with verbal agreed before the development progressed to official agreement on Thursday.
Compensating for the transfer of Nunez, Wolves will be receiving Tommy Doyle from City as part of the deal on loan with a buyout option of £4.3m. By the way, the youngster spent last season on loan at Sheffield United.
In the break down of the fee for Nunez, the initial fee comes with add-ons of £5million. That seems satisfactory to Wolves for a player they signed last season for £42m from Sporting.
Though, City have remained unbeaten in three opening games, they are in need of a replacement for Kevin de Bruyne who is ruled out of action until next year. Nunez might just be suitable in the meantime as Pep Guardiola have a need to bolster his midfield.
