Filmmaker Sold Properties To Produce Blockbuster Film
Nigerian film, Jagun Jagun is currently trending big time on Netflix in about 18 countries and that includes United Kingdom, South Africa, United and Arab Emirates, however, that was at a massive cost for the filmmaker, Femi Adebayo Salami who opened up on how he was able to achieve his goal of making the film.
Besides the brilliance brought into the storyline, Jagun Jagun starred one of the biggest names in Nollywood which means it is a high budget film. Anyone would expect that fund would be sourced from the banks, but that was not Adebayo did. Rather, he raised funds by selling some of his priced properties to make up for the cost.
Adebayo who doubled as the lead actor and director, opened up on the challenges he encountered ahead and during filming whilst speaking in an interview at a local radio station. The fimmaker also revealed one of the biggest challenges faced was creating the school of warriors which featured in the film.
The successes recorded for Jagun Jagun followed up to Adebayo's previous film King of Thieves which also a blockbuster and raked up the best art director at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Award.
