Edson Alvarez Completes Transfer To West Ham
Edson Alvarez is now officially a West Hammer after a deal of £34.5m was completed with his former club, Ajax on his transfer.
The player was signed to a five-year contract on Thursday and has become the club's first signing this summer. He is set to soon be joined by James Ward-Prowse, for whom Southampton have agreed a deal of £30m.
It is understood that Hammers have already made an up front of £32.8m, as confirmed by Ajax. What is left to pay is now add-ons of £2.6m.
"To join a club like a West Ham is a dream for me and my family," said Alcaraz. "The Premier League is a special league, the best league in the world and I think my style will suit it."
With the exit of Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105m, the signing of Alvarez is considered to be West Ham replacement for him.
