Premier League: Man. United Earn Difficult Opening Game Victory Against Hard-Fighting Wolves

Manchester United narrowly escaped a scare from Wolverhampton to make away with 1-0 opening game win at Old Trafford which was well dominated by their opponents.

United earned the hard-fought victory leaving it until late into the game and took the lead from a glance header from Raphael Varane. The goal happened to be the player's second for United since his debut season in 2020/21.

Bruno Fernandez found the right niche from inside the box and lifted the ball over to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who in return lobbed the ball just right enough for Varane to attack and headed the ball from close range past Jose Sa for the opening goal with 14 minutes reaining.

Wolves, for some unlucky reasons in the injury time, was not warded a penalty for Andre Onana diving foul Sasa Kalajddic in the air following a cross and that was minutes after Wan-Bissaka deflected out of touch Hwang Chee-chan's shot from close range.
