Wimbledon: Novak Djokovic Seizes Ruthless R3 Win Against Stan Wawrinka

Novak Djokovic is maintaining his progression at this season's grass-court event at Wimbledon by winning his third-round match against Stan Wawrinka. He is vying for a record-leveling eighth title at the tournament with retired Swiss ace, Roger Federer.

Wawrinka was totally out-performaned by the second-seeded player and lost out in three straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, 7-6(5). The Swiss had not a single break point advantage throughout the match. Djokovic seemingly brushed his opponent aside except for the decider when he was worked up.

The Serbian quickly established his dominance earlier into the match in the first set serving 9 winners hitting 7 unforced errors whilst Wawrinka was really racking up unforced errors -  his drop shots were not the best he hoped for.

"He is really a grass-court specialist...has tremendously powerful serve," said Djokovic commending his opponent . "So, let's hope thatI can go as far as the final here."

Advancing into the fourth-round extended Djokovic's 10-year long undefeated run on the Centre Court. As of this tournament he has not dropped a set, however, he has remained unbeaten in straight 31 matches at Wimbledom - that equalled the previous record set for the feat by Pete Sampras.

The seven-time champion will face in the next round against Hubert Hurkacz. The Polish defeated Italy's Lorenzo Musetti in three sets, 7-6(4), 6-4, 6-4.
