Olympique Marseille Complete Signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Olympique Marseille have completed the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Chelsea as he leaves the Premier League for the second time in 18-month.
Chelsea were initially considering a fee for the forward before it was later garnered that they would let him leave as a free agent. By the way, the player has a year left in his contract with the club he joined from Barcelona in 2022.
However, it is understood that neither of the clubs have disclosed terms of his transfer whether a fee was paid or as a free agent - he had woeful spell at Chelsea where he scored only three goals in 22 appearances.
Aubameyang was signed to Chelsea under former manager Thomas Tuchel in what was considered as their reunion - he played under Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund. Tuchel was later replaced by Ryan Mason, who was also sacked after a string of losses and replaced by Frank Lampard, who later sacked following a string of winless runs, and then, finally replaced by Mauricio Pocchettino.
Blues, however, have let go of some of their key players in this transfer window with the likes of Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Kalidou Koulibaly and N'Golo Kante following the club unimpressive campaign last season.
