Mason Mount Joins Manchester United

Chelsea's Mason Mount has completed his transfer to Manchester United and is the Red Devils' signing in this window.

The player has committed himself to a long-term contract of five-year that is worth £55m plus add-ons of £5m depending on appearances and performance.

United succeeded in signing the player after multiple bids were declined by Chelsea with the hope that he would be interested in contract renewal. Mount on his part, is keen on leaving and Chelsea did not want to let him leave as a free agent since he has a season left in his contract.

Mason joined the list of players that have left Chelsea in this summer which includes Kai Havertz, Kalidou Koulibaly, and NGolo Kante.

"I know just how strong a squad it is that I'm joining," said Mount. "I can't wait to be part of this group's drive to win major trophies."

Having finished third in the Premier League, United will be participating in the Champions League next season, and the 24-year-old had been at Stanford Bridge for 18 years - he started from the club's academy - will bring his experience to the team as a 2021 Champions League winner with Chelsea.
