F1 Alpine Bosses To Leave Their Roles After Belgian Grand Prix

Alpine has confirmed that team principal officer, Otmar Szafnauer will quit his role this weekend as they seek to improve on their performance.

After an impressive 2022 F1 Championship which their constructors finished in fourth, the racing team revealed the decision made is to allow the them reach "faster the level of performance" they have projected as reported by F1. However, Alpine in a statement, thanked "Otmar for his hard work over the past 18 month."

Earlier in July, a number of changes took place in Alpine and that includes the appointment of Bruno Famin as the vice president for Motorsport and the replacement of Laurent Rossi with Philippe Krief as the new chief executive while the former will focus on special projects.

As the shake-up continues to sweep across the team, Alphine also confirmed that the sporting director, Alan Permane will join Szafnauer in leaving the team after this weekend race in Belgium.

Last weekend was disappointing for Alpine as the racing duo, Pierre Gasly and Ocon Esteban collided just after the start and both retired from the Hungarian Grand Prix. As it is with the drivers' standings, the duo are midway of the table with 16 and 31 points respoectively.
