Declan Rice Joins Arsenal For New English Record-signing Fee

Arsenal have finalised on the transfer for Declan Rice from West Ham on a five-year contract and the player is joining the club on a new record-signing fee for an English player set at  £105m.

Multiple offers were initially rejected by West Ham even at £90m until it reached a £100m mark and with add-ons of £5m was included in the deal. At that fee, Rice's deal surpassed the previous English record-signing of £100m set by Manchester City attacking midfielder, Jack Grealish.

"I'm really looking forward to getting started and hopefully enjoying a few trophies together," said Rice who led West Ham to win the Europa Conference League trophy.

Earlier in the week, Arsenal had completed the signing of Ajax defender, Jurrien Timber on a long-term deal for £34m plus add-ons worth £4.5m.

Likewise, Arsenal havesigned Chelsea's attacking midfielder, Kai Havertz to a long-term contract worth £65m and he is believed to be the replacement for Granit Xhaka, who later left the club to sign for Bayer Leverkusen.
