British Grand Prix: Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton Make Podium As Max Verstappen Wins His First At Silverstone

Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton lived up to the pressure on home-soil and both made podium finish respectively behind Max Verstappen as Red Bull clinched their first British Grand Prix race win since 2012.

Verstappen first trailed Norris until Lap 7 when he retook the pole and led from there on. However, McLaren had to battle with Hamilton at the Turns but Norris kept the Mercedes driver at bay until the chequered flag to finish second - Hamilton was third.

McLaren game plan to switch from soft to hard tyres worked out during Safety Car caused by Haas' Kevin Magnussen smoking car late into the race. Norris changed tyres at this time and after Safety Car was lifted that gave him good traction to stay on and finished second.

Meanwhile, Hamilton improved from P7 and had to also battle out with Fernando Alondo and Oscar Piastri. Though, McLaren duo had a good showdown at the qualifying, and Piastri yet delivered a front row finish for his career best in fourth.

Another impressive improvement was Red Bull's Sergio Perez. The Spaniard failed to progressed past Q1 at the qualifying session and started in P15. He gave it a good effort at the final and improved to sixth behind Mercedes' George Russell.

The race was Verstappen's eleventh race wins in a row and his first for Red Bull at Silverstone as he maintains the lead in driver's standing for F1 Championship title defence.
