RB Leipzig's Dominik Szoboszlai Sets To Join Liverpool As Buyout Clause Is Triggered

Liverpool have closed in on competing a transfer for Dominik Szoboszlai after they triggered the player's release clause of £60m (€70m) with RB Leipzig.

The Bundesliga club has reportedly been informed about the development and talks are now in advanced stage to complete the remaining parts of the deal. Then, the Hungarian player can have his medical.

Liverpool were initially not alone in the race for the player as Newcastle United were also aiming for him but later relinquished interest. That leaves Liverpool alone in the race in talks with the player's representatives.

Dominik is set to become Reds' second signing in this transfer window after Alexis Mac Miller. Earlier in June, Liverpool completed the signing of Alexis from Brighton & Hove in a five-year contract worth £35m plus add-ons.

Though Liverpool will not be participating at the Champions League next season, they will be playing in the UEFA Europa League for finishing fifth of the EPL table.
