Mateo Kovacic Completes Manchester City Move
Mateo Kovacic's transfer from Chelsea has been completed and his contract is set to run for four-year with the new club, Manchester City.
With the exit of Ilkay Gundogan from City to joined Barcelona, the club needed to replace the German and Kovacic is the player found suitable for the role in the midfield.
The contract is understood to worth £30m, and the player his glad to make the transfer describing the team under Pep Guardiola as the "best in the world."
He added: "The trophies they have won are clear for all to see, but they are also the best footballing side out there."
Kovacic's depth of experience spans from winning the Champions League with Chelsea in 2019/20 to leading Croatia to reach their first ever Fifa World Cup final in Brazil in 2018.
Chelsea technical director, Txiki Begiristain described the signing of Kovacic as a "simple decision" considering the quality of experience he stands to bring to the team.
"He understands the Premier League," Txiki said. "It was a very simple decision to bring him to City because he has the tactical and technical qualities we are looking for in a midfielder."
