Manchester City Agree Deal For Ilkay Gundogan To Join Barcelona

Manchester City are set to lose Ilkay Gundogan in a free transfer to Barcelona as both clubs have agreed on a deal for the player.

Gundogan has until the end of the June left in his contract with City. Though, he reportedly seeks to have a new deal  - even for one-season - City are understood not to be willing to oblige.

As the deal presently is, not much is known from both clubs' stance on contract terms. However, the midfielder is understood to stand to get a one-year - plus option to extend - deal from Barcelona. More so, no personal terms have been announced to be reached with the player.

Amidst losing the player who scored the two winning goals that sealed the FA Cup victory for City in a 2-1 win against Manchester United, they have found Mateo Kovacic to make up for his exist.

Chelsea's new owners are considering reducing their team size and they have been putting up for sale a number of players - they have spent heavily to sign the players and yet had a very slow season that saw three managers being replaced in just a season.

City are expected to cough up £30m in transfer fee to Chelsea - that is including add-ons - for the Croatian central midfielder. He is expected to be City's replacement for Gundogan should he complete his transfer to Barcelona.
