Kylian Mbappe Announces Decision To Leave Paris Saint-Germain, What Is Really Happening?

Potentially, next season might be the last season for Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain and the club has been formally informed about the player's desire to leave the club by next summer.

For sometimes, Mbappe's desire to leave the club has been widely known, and on top of his interests has been Real Madrid - he almost left the side for Bernabeu under Zinedine Zidane. He joined the club on loan from Monaco, and since his debut season in 2016/17 his performance has been remarkable and has since been in sport's limelight.

"I have Never discussed any contract renewal with PSG. The board has been informed since July 15th, 2022 of my decision not to extend beyond 2024," Mbappe confirmed in a statement. "And the letter sent was only meant to confirm what I already told them."

After the news broke that the forward would not extend his contract next season, rumours quickly spread that he might not even play at the club this summer and is plotting to join Real Madrid instead.

Mbappe quickly addressed the rumours in a tweet and confirmed that he will play at the club this season as against speculations which are aimed at damaging his image.

"LIES...X," he tweeted. "At the same time, the bigger it is, the more it passes. I have already said that I will continue next season at PSG where I am very happy."

Meanwhile, contrary to Mbappe claim of having no negotiations with the board, the club has come out to denied his statement and described it as "untrue" that the player's team are all in talks with the club for a renewal.

"It is emphatically untrue to say Mbappe's team have not been involved in renewal discussions," said the club in a statement that confirmed they are aware of the player's decision not to extend his contract in the summer of 2024.

Since PSG might not want Mbappe to leave as a free agent, there are also speculations that they could make a surprise move for him in this transfer window.

Mbappe's current contract is worth a whopping £500m and if he played the last season in his contract, he would leave the club for free.
