Idris Elba Opens Up On Ruling Out Starring As James Bond
Since Daniel Craig made his final James Bond appearance in No Time To Die, the franchise has not find any one suitable for the role of 007. Associating Idris Elba with the possibilities of being the new James Bond is not new and neither is that to the British actor.
The role that was expected to be something what Idris delightfully looks forward to turns out not the case with him. What could be the reason behind the John Luther actor ruling himself out of contending for the role?
Idris confessed the call for the role of 007 brings him a feeling of being at the "pinnacle". However, that feeling he admitted quickly changed as issues of racial biases became attached to it.
The actor opened up on the matter whilst speaking on a podcast themed SmartLess, and pointing out what led to his decision he said: "Those that weren't happy about the idea made the who thing disgusting and off-putting because it became about race."
Idris is no small actor in the movie industry and had starred in iconic roles including as Nelson Mandela in Mendela: Long Walk To Freedom and as Brixton Lore, a villain in Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw.
Meanwhile, the actor is not alone in the race for the role which also has actors like Tom Hardy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Richard Madden n the race.
