Chelsea Complete Signing Of Christopher Nkunku
Chelsea have confirmed the signing of a new striker, Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig and he will be their first signing under the club's new manager, Mauricio Pocchettino.
Nkunku already had agreed with Chelsea on a contract to leave the Bundesliga side last season, and teased of his impending move shortly after the club's last game of 2-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt to lift the DFB-Pokal Cup.
"Having played in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, I now want to play in the Premier League, one of the strongest leagues in the world," he said on his move to Chelsea.
The contract is reportedly set at a buyout clause of about £53m and will run for six years. He already did his medical after the pre-contract agreement was reached in December.
"He has demonstrated his ability at the highest level with RB Leipzig and France," said Chelsea technical directors, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley. "We look forward to him joining up with his new teammates ahead of the new season."
